Track of the Day #1053: Fake Turins – Beatnik

London based 11-piece band Fake Turins continue their string of farewell releases with latest single ‘Beatnik‘. It’s a psychedelic-disco track in true Fake Turins style with frantic guitars and funky basslines. ‘Beatnik’ is taken from Fake Turins forthcoming and final EP ‘Inheritance’ which is set for release on 9th May 2023 via Hideous Mink Records.

Speaking of the track, Dominic Rose of Fake Turins has said: “‘Beatnik’ is the original Turins track. It contains my manifesto for the project, and for the character I came to inhabit as Dominic Rose. It tells the tale of a false prophet, worshipped in hordes – with violent untenable screed, his mind falls into madness. The outline of this character was drawn in shades of my dad, taking our dream of plight (for humanity, for ourselves..) and seeing how it can easily corrupt human nature.”
