Yesterday Manchester’s The Slow Readers Club released their latest single ‘Modernise‘! The track revolves around a catchy, sawing synth use that adds a fuzzy, yet dramatic side to the track. It still has The Slow Readers Club dark-wave/post-punk blueprint, but there’s definitely a slightly more fun energy to this one.
Speaking briefly of the track, the band have said that it’s “about the constant need to learn and adapt to changing, it’s a bit of a techno fear song”. ‘Modernise’ is taken from The Slow Readers Club’s forthcoming album ‘Knowledge Freedom Power‘ which is set for release on 24th February 2023.
The Slow Readers Club are set to tour the UK in support for their album ‘Knowledge Freedom Power’ in March with dates as follows:
