As usual, October is a super busy month music-wise! So I’m back again with 8 gigs you can’t miss over the coming weeks across the Portsmouth/Southampton area!

cowboyy (Karate Lessons Presents)
When and where? Friday 7th October – Staggeringly Good Brewery, Portsmouth
In brief: cowboyy are a south-coast based band whose music ranges from art-rock, post-punk to jazz and beyond. The band just released their debut single ‘Gmaps’ via Nice Swan Records and they’re likely your new favourite band.

Baby Vanga (Strong Island Recordings/Crocodile Nightmares)
When and where? Friday 14th October – Staggeringly Good Brewery, Portsmouth
In brief: South London based Baby Vanga create breezy, laid-back psychedelic jazz music.

J.J. Summer (Calamity Cratediggers)
When and where? Friday 7th October – The Loft, Southsea
In brief: Portsmouth based duo J.J. Summer’s music could be described as mellow dream-pop. The band released their debut EP ‘Constructs‘ back in May.

Noon Garden (neu waves)
When and where? Thursday 27th October – The Loft, Southsea
In brief: Noon Garden is the alias of Charles Prest from Flamingods who creates exotic psych-pop. If you haven’t already, do check out their debut album ‘Beulah Spa‘ which was released earlier this year.

DITZ (neu waves/Pie and Vinyl)
When and where? Thursday 20th October – The Loft, Southsea
In brief: DITZ are a Brighton based band who create in-your-face post-punk with a thrilling live show to match.

LIFE
When and where? Friday 14th October – Joiners, Southampton
In brief: Hull’s finest post-punk quartet LIFE return to Southampton following the release of their latest album ‘North East Costal Town‘.

The Manatees
When and where? Saturday 22nd October – The Joiners, Southampton
In brief: The Manatees are an indie-pop trio with a back catalogue of anthemic indie-rock tracks. They’re also probably one of the most exciting indie-pop bands you’ll see live this year.

PVA (Honeymooner/So Young Magazine)
When and where? Monday 24th October – The Joiners, Southampton
In brief: PVA are a South London based electronic post-punk trio and the band are set to release their debut album ‘BLUSH’ in this month.
