Track of the Day #1006: cowboyy – Gmaps

cowboyy - GmapsThe long-awaited debut single from your new favourite band cowboyy is finally here! ‘Gmaps‘ is the first release from the band via Nice Swan Records and it’s a refreshing track that straddles math-rock, post-punk, even jazz. ‘Gmaps’ is centred around a jaunty, meandering riff that makes it the catchiest song you’ll hear this week.

Speaking of the track, Stanley Powell of cowboyy has said: “When we first started rehearsing together ‘Gmaps’ was the first song I had written for cowboyy. I was away from home and didn’t have a guitar with me at the time, the first thing I did when I got back was play it. I remember being told it would get stuck in peoples head, I liked that.”

You can catch cowboyy live at Staggeringly Good Brewery, Portsmouth next Friday (7th October) and tickets are available here.
