Brighton based seven-piece band KEG recently released their debut single ‘Heyshaw‘! It’s a jaunty track full of discordant, yet jangly guitars, fun brass parts and bumble-y synth use. ‘Heyshaw’ was released coinciding with the announcement that KEG had signed to Alcopop! Records and the track is taken from their debut EP ‘Assembly’ which is set for release this October.
Speaking of the track, Albert Haddenham of KEG has said: “The first tune we wrote as Keg is a cheeky ditty about my mum’s family, growing up on Heyshaw farm in the Yorkshire dales and various RAF camps around the world, from Nidderdale to Kuwait, Kuala Lumpur to Driffield, Whippets to Frankfurters. The culture clash must have been quite stark. Musically the track was written at the height of our collective Devo frenzy, we are indebted to our Ohio forebears.”
Catch KEG live at the following dates:
12th August – Sebright Arms, London (supporting Blue Bendy)
17th August – Prince Albert, Brighton (supporting Opus Kink)
17th September – Green Door Store, Brighton (supporting Bull)
