Track of the Day #861: Hive Society – Opaque

Brighton based Hive Society recently returned with their latest single ‘Opaque‘ and it’s a haunting, yet dreamy track in an unsettling way. The track builds modestly and it’s serene for the most part. In true Hive Society fashion, ‘Opaque’ is a sublime offering, yet this time, it’s slightly darker.

Hive Society are set to headline the Edge of the Wedge, Portsmouth on the 8th July 2021, so be sure to catch them live then!

Speaking of the track the band have said: “‘Opaque’ paints an image of angst. Written in the aftermath of a near life changing car accident that resulted in bassist Jasper breaking his neck, the lyrics paint heavily sedated delirium against a feedback-loop of anger and resentment.”
