After hearing this for the first time, I was intrigued as to what the word ‘Nangijala‘ might translate into. Oddly, it translates into ‘I was angry’ in Zulu, which I didn’t think complimented the tracks vibe at all… But after searching a bit further, I found out that ‘Nangijala’ is “a land beyond death” in a Swedish children’s book called ‘The Brothers Lionheart’ and I feel like this explains the enchanting, magical side of this track.
‘Nangijala’, the latest track from Swedish analog instrumental artist Harald Björk‘s second album of 2020 ‘Håll Om Mig‘. It’s a sparkly, ambient track that builds up with beeps and bloops as well as repetitive rhythms. ‘Nangijala’ is dreamy and hypnotic with celestial atmospherics that wash over the track for its duration.
