Following the release of Brijs last track ‘Stay Up, Stephanie‘ last month, it’s safe to say that we were eager to hear more! The guitar-pop artist has just released a psych-tinged track ‘River Swimming‘ which is as relaxing as it sounds. The track is lead by hypnotic, monotonous rhythms which drift along quite effortlessly. ‘River Swimming’ ends with an instrumental section full of colourful, kaleidoscopic melodies. ‘River Swimming’ is the latest track taken from Brijs forthcoming album ‘Glitra’.
‘River Swimming’ was written during a time where Brijs had left his London job as well as the city itself for a property guardianship of a dilapidated mansion Cecil Court in his rural hometown with a new group of friends. Speaking of the track and this time, Brijs has said: “That first trip to France was like jumping into a cool river on a summer’s day after a long journey and washing off five years of stress, sweat and grime.”
“Half swimming, half floating, I headed downstream away from the greyness and noise towards a sun-drenched peace somewhere in the distance. Those two years living at Cecil Court felt similar in a way.”
