London based psych six-piece Baby Vanga returned with their first release of 2020 on Tuesday! ‘Electric Air‘ combines an eclectic array of genres from jazz to funk, psych and beyond. It’s an ethereal track filled with chilled, summery vibes and it even includes floaty flute parts. The funky bassline, tremolo’d guitars and exotic percussion only add to ‘Electric Air’s eccentric, yet nostalgic demeanour.
Speaking of the track, Baby Vanga have said: “‘Electric Air’ is a brief exploration into the endless journey of finding purpose within actions, yet being aware of the beauty in the actions themselves. Reflecting this is the insecure effect of the odd time enclosed by entwining genres, that’s contrasted by lighthearted melodies and the overall optimism the song tries to illustrate. It was written and recorded at my home studio in South London, where various iterations of the song were probed, leading to the final version that’ll hopefully fill your ears with delight.”
