Track of the day #687: The Covasettes – Be Mine

The Covasettes were one of our favourite indie-pop discoveries of last year! We were super-impressed by their live performance and upbeat tracks that we couldn’t wait to hear more from them!

Earlier this year, the band released ‘Spin‘ and today, they’ve returned with a rock ‘n’ roll inspired, brash offering that is ‘Be Mine‘, the bands most boundary-pushing track yet. It’s rawer and grittier than previous tracks from The Covasettes but it still has their catchy, indie-pop blueprint lurking in there. It’s a track you’ll be singing along to before you know it!

Speaking of the track, The Covasettes have said: “Every time we play ‘Be Mine’ at gigs, it gets such a lively reaction and creates a real buzz in the room. So when it came to deciding our next single, Be Mine was the clear favourite. We’ve had ‘Be Mine’ ready to go for a long time now and we can’t wait to get it out there for everyone to hear. We hope that people get behind it like they have with our other releases and come and sing it back to us at the live shows.”

The Covasettes are set to play the following shows next year:

3rd February – The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham
4th February – Heartbreakers, Southampton
6th February – Camden Assembly, London
11th February – Oporto, Leeds
12th February – Deaf Institute, Manchester
13th February – Think Tank Underground, Newcastle
14th February – Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh

5th June – Golden Touch Festival, Portsmouth
