Track of the day #675: JW Francis – New York

New York based JW Francis has released a string of consistently brilliant, lo-fi tracks over the past couple of years and this latest track is no different! ‘New York‘ is funky and feel-good from the word go combining a gloriously summery, lo-fi warmth with a funky, upbeat demeanour. Speaking of the track, JW Francis has said: ““I’m a licensed tour guide of NYC. This place has taught me so much. I wanted to write an homage, but also express how I feel, which is mostly contained in the first line of the song ‘I’ll sleep when dead’. This song is an ode to the city I live in. It’s about feeling frustration but also inspiration.”
