Track of the day #658: Misha Ostrov – Your Head

Misha Ostrov - Your HeadAfter being super impressed by post-punk artist Misha Ostrov‘s debut track ‘Screen‘ last month, we were very eager to hear more! Misha Ostrov returned today with ‘Your Head’, a track which is taken from their forthcoming EP that is currently in the works. ‘Your Head’ is lead by murky, hypnotic riffs as well as monotonous vocals and the track becomes more explosive with tinges of angst as it progresses. The ending of the track is epic and truly something special, it’s like a sudden realisation, clearheadedness and an injection of colour all at once. One of the best tracks you’ll hear this week.

Speaking of the track, Misha Ostrov has said: “Your Head” is about our current troubled political paradigm, and the parallels it strikes with an emotionally manipulative relationship. Ominous, distorted guitars and blunt spoken-word lyrics drive home the cynicism surrounding our feelings surrounding nation and government. A cathartic, ‘clouds parting’ shoegaze finale reflects the moments of bliss one occasionally feels for their country, but under an artificial, almost pharmaceutical pretext.”
