Track of the day #623: Haal – Carmen Jones
Bristol based band Haal recently released their debut track ‘Carmen Jones‘, a post-rock track with bleak undertones. It’s a very industrial track that’s full of distorted, sparse and even dread-filled melodies which are contrasted by drifty, grungier parts.
‘Carmen Jones’ was written around/features a sample from an old opera record performance of the tracks namesake from the 1960’s that the band found in a charity shop.
For a debut track, I’m definitely intrigued to hear more from Haal and it definitely solidifies them as a band to watch out for.
