Track of the day #619: brother sports – mala

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve had this track on repeat since hearing it for the first time yesterday!

‘mala‘ is the last track to be taken from Texas based band brother sports EP release next month. The track kicks off with bumble-y, anxious guitar melodies that follow through ‘mala’ and it has a lo-fi feel to it despite being a very driven track. ‘mala’ has a sense of warmth to it with a tinge of shoegaze-y, grunge goodness.

Speaking of the track, brother sports have said: “This song is about having a hard time with reality. It’s our way of fighting back against the uncertainty and threat of these times.”
