Track of the day #616: Mystic Peach – Normal

Mystic Peach - NormalToday Southampton psychedelic-grunge favourites Mystic Peach returned with their latest release ‘Normal‘! It’s an unplanned but perfectly timed release which reflects on loneliness and a disconnect from the modern world, despite being written long before the current situation. ‘Normal’ encapsulates the bands raw, expressive sound and their live energy all in one go. Musically, the track is one of Mystic Peach’s bleakest tracks yet but is definitely one to be played loud!

Speaking of the track, frontman Curtis Gale has said: The song is about alienation, self-consciousness & rebelling. Life moves fast and I wasn’t up for it. I’ve seen what this ‘normal’ life can do, 9-5 routines and shitty public transport where people can’t even look at one another in the eye. I don’t want to be a part of it”.

‘Normal’ by Mystic Peach is only available via Bandcamp and all proceeds from track sales will go towards Tonic Music for Mental Health.
