Discover: Doviak – Century

Manchester based multi-instrumentalist Doviak is back with his first track of 2020, ‘Century‘. It’s a slow-burner in comparison to previous tracks from Doviak, but ‘Century’ is still built around a nimble, hypnotic riff that returns mid-track where it really takes off. The track is the first standalone track release since his ‘Enemy Numbers‘ EP last year, which if you like this, is well worth a listen as well.

Speaking of the track, Doviak has said: “Century is a melancholic ode to obsession in the age of Tinder, the hazardous mix of social media and dating. It was written mostly in a hotel room in Paris overlooking the rooftops of Montmarte during a day off on tour. The haunting melody emerged from a cheap little keyboard I’d picked up from a junk shop in San Fransisco years ago, finally clicking when the riff became a guitar line.”
