Track of the day #580: Talk Show – Banshee

Talk Show - Banshee

London based Talk Show returned last week with news of their long-awaited debut EP release and latest single ‘Banshee‘. The track continually builds over a short time with raw, intense vocal parts layered on minimal instrumentation. However, ‘Banshee’ is contrasted by jangly, even indie-pop instrumental parts that break up the urgency of the track. Talk Show’s debut EP ‘These People’ is set for release on 27th March via Council Records.

Speaking of the track, Talk Show’s lead vocalist and guitarist Harrison Swann has said: “At its core, ‘Banshee’ is a frustrated lovelorn tale. We didn’t want Banshee to feel depressing or hopeless, more heartfelt and ardent. I wanted the lyrics and song to progress through a relationship which brings no resolution, nor closure for the protagonist.”

Talk Show will play the following dates across the UK in April:

17th April – Nice ‘N’ Sleazy, Glasgow
18th April – YES, Manchester
20th April – Bodega Social Club, Nottingham
22nd April – The Crofters Rights, Bristol
23rd April – Lafayette, London
24th April – The Green Door Store, Brighton
