Local gigs you can’t miss in December 2019

We’re back with our last monthly instalment of gigs you can’t miss locally across the Portsmouth/Southampton area for 2019. This month we’ve got the likes of Temples at the Engine Rooms, Southampton as well as Mystic Peach’s first Portsmouth headline plus much, much more. This is an ever-so-slightly slightly shorter edition as the year draws to a close, but here are some local gigs you definitely shouldn’t miss this month.

Honeymooner All-Dayer

When and where? 14th December 2019 at The Loft, Southampton

In brief: Honeymooner are putting on a whole day of fantastic bands including Mystic Peach, Happy2000, LazyDay, new additions to the lineup Wild Front and more! The event will be headlined by Gengahr!

When and where? 7th December 2019 – Engine Rooms, Southampton

In brief: Psychedelic pop-rock band Temples play Southampton for what appears to be, surprisingly, the first time next weekend. The band recently released their third album ‘Hot Motion’ earlier this year.

Mystic Peach (Honeymooner/Thank God For Sinners)

When and where? 20th December 2019 at Acalpulco, Portsmouth

In brief: Mystic Peach play their debut headline gig in Portsmouth. The band put on an intense live performance which is definitely not to be missed. Their latest single ‘The Eye and The Twitch’ is a banger as well.

Sad Palace (Quay West Studio’s Cool Gig in a Church)

When and where? 20th December 2019 – St John’s C of E Chuch, Gosport

In brief: One of our favourite Gosport band’s Sad Palace return to headline Quay West Studio’s “Cool Gig in a Church” for the second time this year! If last time was anything to go by, this will be a Christmas bash not to be missed!

Katie’s Vinyl Bar 2nd Birthday, Gosport

When and where? 1st December – 2pm until 10:30pm at Katie’s Vinyl Bar, Gosport

In brief: Katie’s Vinyl Bar in Gosport turns 2 this weekend and they’re celebrating with a whole day of live music from 12 local solo artists including The Cavaliers, Lou Pinder (of Sad Palace), Dexter Krenal (of DXTA) and more! There’ll also be complimentary tapas style food!

The Dusty Trims (2nd EP Release)

When and where? 28th December 2019 – The Clarence Tavern, Gosport

In Brief: Blow the cobwebs out after Christmas with this banger of a gig! The last time The Dusty Trims headlined The Clarence Tavern was a raucous affair, mosh-pit inducing and certainly not for the faint hearted! Listen to the title track from their debut EP below.
