Track of the day #548: DIIV – Blankenship
I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to this track more than anything over the past couple of weeks, even more than when DIIV released ‘Skin Game‘ a few months back, the first cut from their latest album ‘Deceiver‘.
‘Blankenship‘ takes on a grungier, heavier side than previous offerings from DIIV, but it works. The track is bleak with a gloomy bassline that underpins the thunderous, fuzz-filled guitar parts and the monotony of the vocals.
DIIV are set to tour the UK in February next year with dates as following:
20th February – SWX Bristol, Bristol
21st February – Leeds University Stylus, Leeds
22nd February – The Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool
23rd February – Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow
24th February – Riverside, Newcastle
26th February – Academy 2, Manchester
28th February – The Crossing, Birmingham
29th February – Chalk (formerly The Haunt), Brighton
Tickets for the above DIIV gigs are available here.
