Track of the day #527: Idles – I Dream Guillotine

It’s been a whirlwind of a few years for Idles, a band whose passionate, political and darkly comedic music has sent them soaring. Two albums in and with news of a third, yet untitled in the works, Idles are back with their latest track ‘I Dream Guillotine‘, a b-side to their latest 7″ single, ‘Mercedes Marxist’. It’s punchy and frantic with darker undertones and a certain urgency familiar across Idles previous tracks.

Last week Idles second album ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’ was shortlisted for 2019’s Mercury Prize Awards. Idles are a band whose live performance can’t be ignored and sees them playing five sold-out gigs across the UK in December:

2nd December – Glasgow, Barrowland Ballroom SOLD OUT
3rd December – Glasgow, Barrowland Ballroom SOLD OUT
4th December – Manchester, Academy SOLD OUT
5th December – Leeds, O2 Academy SOLD OUT
7th December – London, Alexandra Palace SOLD OUT
