Track of the day #487: Sarpa Salpa – Casanova

Northampton based indie quartet Sarpa Salpa bring us their latest super-catchy track, ‘Casanova‘, a funky, upbeat offering which was released (rather appropriately) on Valentine’s Day. Propelling the band into 2019 with potentially one of the best tracks of the year so far, ‘Casanova’ is an energetic and infectious offering from the band. Riff-laden with brash hooks, punchy melodies and attitude, the track builds on an already solid foundation set out by the band but it’s a lot more concise and snappy.

Speaking of ‘Casanova’, Sarpa Salpa have said: “The track is focused around somebody chasing their idea of what love is, yet their high expectations always fall short to their reality and they wind up disappointed.”

We interviewed Sarpa Salpa before their Icebreaker Festival set last month so you can read more about the band here. The band have a few gigs coming up across the country and you can (and definitely should) catch them at the following dates:

23rd February – Verve Bar, Leeds

1st March – Crauford Arms, Milton Keynes
6th March – The Horn, St Albans
7th March – 229 The Venue, London

4th April – Hope and Ruin, Brighton
