London-based duo Dolls are back with the first taster from their forthcoming EP ‘Pop The Bubble’, an effervescent, succinct track, ‘Sugar Free‘. It’s a grunge-punk track which packs a punch into just around 2 minutes combining driven guitars, a dynamic attitude and lively vocal hooks.
Speaking of the track, drummer Bel has said: “It was a spontaneous song that came out of Jade’s improvised guitar riff. When we were writing lyrics I had a sugar free drink and started thinking how people can get so pissed off when they ask for diet coke and get regular. So it represents those kind of first world problems and concerns about how our worst nightmare could be something so shallow that it’s just ridiculous”.
You can catch Dolls live at the following London dates this Autumn and later this year:
24th September – Rough Trade East, London
4th November – The Underworld, London
