Track of the day #432: FLOAT – Watch

Watch‘, the latest track by London based post-punk band FLOAT ascends into something quite epic with a one minute long intro and soaring guitars drenching the rest of the track. The repetitive vocals throughout the track would make you think it would be rather monotonous but ‘Watch’ is anything but that. This dark track is dominant and the urgency conveyed by the instrumentation, especially the hypnotic guitar riffs creates something rather unique. There’s a bit of The Horrors in there and even a bit of Wire amongst other influences but the aforementioned riffs add another dimension to their sound. For a debut single it shows a lot of promise for the band in the future.
