Mostly instrumental, mostly repetitive, but most of all a thrilling journey throughout, Nova Scotia based musician Rich Aucoin‘s latest track ‘The Fear‘ is a piano-led, funky track with a lively bassline throughout. Driving through the first half in a somewhat monotonous manner, it breaks down mid-track and picks up again with a continual repeated lyric towards the end. The second half feels more upbeat, free and happier than its counterpart due to the added vocals.
Speaking of the track, Rich Aucoin has said: “this song’s single lyric is a mantra for the importance of overcoming our fears fostering the evolution and improvement of our lives. Fear is important but, left unchecked, can dominate our behaviour and hold us back from experiences just outside our reach. If our fears are of failure or rejection, the fears are moot as those are some of the most important tools we have to learn from. What would we be without our mistakes?”
In support of his forthcoming EP ‘Hold’ which is set for release in March, Rich Aucoin will be completing a 15-date US tour. This isn’t any ordinary tour though, he will be cycling city to city to raise awareness for mental health by donating 100% of tour proceeds to Mental Health America and The Canadian Mental Health Association.
