Track of the day #374: Makeness – Stepping Out Of Sync

Set to release his debut album ‘Loud Patterns’ on April 6th, ‘Stepping Out Of Sync‘ is the first track taken from Scottish solo-artist, Makeness‘ forthcoming album. The track combines bubbly and soaring synths with unique, alluring vocals. With hints of disco, ‘Stepping Out Of Sync’ is an experimental, lively and dance-y, but still somehow a slack, relaxing track throughout.

Speaking of the track, Kyle of Makeness has said: “‘Stepping Out Of Sync’ for me is about losing a little bit of a grip on reality. There’s a big nod to the world of pop music in the track and I wanted to reflect that in the video too. I think the video really captures the range of emotions that exist in the track, it’s upbeat and positive aspect alongside a layer of dissonance and confusion that lies under the surface.”

Makeness is playing in London on 12th April 2018 at Corsica Studios with tickets available here.
