Let’s Take Five: An interview with PANGEA

PANGEA recently released their funk-tastic, debut single ‘Something Bad’, so following this, we decided to catch up with the band to discuss this more and the future!

Hi there! Firstly, so that our readers can know a bit more about you, please introduce PANGEA:

We Are Pangea, We Are One x

We’re a four piece based in Liverpool dedicated to finding the frequency between funk and indie.

Your debut single ‘Something Bad’ was released very recently and it’s definitely a solid indie-funk-disco track. Other than music, did any outside forces inspire the track musically and lyrically?

We’re all a few weeks away from graduation, which marks a big change in all our lives. Now we’re at the end of this chapter its difficult to not look back at all the things you wished you’d done over the journey. The lyrics in Something Bad are representative of looking back and wishing you’d been braver and more adventurous.

If you could play absolutely anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Paisley Park. I think its only a museum now but to play somewhere with that much creativity and inspiration intrinsically woven into it would be amazing.

What originally sparked your interest to create music as a band?

We all share a mutual love for funk music but we all have different influences, and once we all got in a room together and felt the vibrations, it just made sense.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming tour dates and what have you got planned for the rest of 2017?

We’re playing over in Manchester on the 2nd June at Fallow Cafe supporting Rascalton which will be fun.

We have some new songs coming soon too that we’re really excited to share with everyone.

We love you, We Are One x

We’d like to thank PANGEA very much for their time! You can listen to the band’s latest single ‘Something Bad’ below and also find PANGEA on social media via the following links.
