Let’s Take Five: An interview with Little Triggers

Little Triggers are a Liverpool based rock ‘n’ roll band who are set to release their second single ‘Silly Cigarettes‘ taken from their upcoming EP shortly. Their latest track is slower, with a notably more meaningful feel to it than their previous single ‘When The Lights Go Out’ which was harsh, very much cock-sure and rather intense. The band (who formed just last year) are already set for huge things with their brazen, yet truly versatile tracks, their furious wit and charming arrogance.

mix it all up - little triggersHi there! Firstly, so that our readers can know a bit more about you, please introduce Little Triggers:

We’re Little Triggers, a rock ‘n’ roll outfit from Liverpool. I wouldn’t say we’re on par with the greats such as lovely Ludwig, Tchaikovsky, Bach or the likes but we’re alright (we keep the ritardandos to a minimum, evidently).

Your latest single ‘Silly Cigarettes’ is being released imminently! As of right now, what can you tell us about this release?

I can tell you that it is being released on the 21st. It is also a song!

On your upcoming EP, most of the tracks were recorded on a guitar given to your front-man Tom Hamilton-Hughes by none other than the legendary Wilko Johnson or Dr. Feelgood. How did this come about and has it shaped the sound of the EP in a certain way?

Tom will probably tell you differently, but I don’t think it’s shaped the sound of the EP at all. It’s just a guitar after all, you can only do so much with one; and just because it’s been given to someone doesn’t mean it’s gonna change the sound of an EP. Someone could have given me a boss little synthesizer and I’d still be using the same patches, tones or whatever on beats.

Do you have any pre/post-gig rituals?

I don’t have any rituals before or after a gig, I’m not a wizard. I smoke cigarettes, have a pint or three, and I might even have a shit if the mood takes me.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming tour dates and what have you got planned for the rest of 2017?

Yeah we have a few gigs knocking about;

17th April – Studio 2, Liverpool
26th April – Sound of The Xity, Shanghai
29th April – Strawberry Festival, Shanghai
1st May – Strawberry Festival, Beijing
10th June – Chester’s Summer Jam

I don’t know what the fuck we’ve got planned for the rest of 2017 aside from the EP release, I’m sure it’ll be half alright though. This is the part where I’m meant to plug the EP release – it’ll be great, gee whiz, wowee, it’s getting released in early May!

We’d like to thank Little Triggers very much for their time! The band’s next single ‘Silly Cigarettes‘ is set for release on April 21st, otherwise depending on where you are in the world, you can catch the Little Triggers at any of the above dates!
