Track of the day #151 : TRAAMS – Slipping

‘Slipping’ is the first of two tracks on TRAAMS latest double A-side release ‘Slipping/Penguin’. The band have recently completed a UK tour including dates alongside Eagulls + Protomartyr, The Wytches and Girl Band.

‘Slipping’ starts off rather muted before erupting into a hypnotic, thrumming guitar rhythm which is soon joined by confident, gritty vocals. The track slips into a rather experimental, almost worldly guitar melody in the middle which ends up with the original guitar rhythm interlocking with a matching bass rhythm… It’d be too obvious for me to use a Wire comparison, but the similarities are there throughout this track, instrumentation and vocal-wise.

You can listen to ‘Slipping’ by TRAAMS below via Soundcloud. The band have just released the track on 7″ including the track ‘Penguin’, you can purchase this by clicking here. You can also catch the band at Green Door Store, Brighton on January 7th.
