7 Bands You Cannot Miss At Blissfields 2016

This is one of the smaller, local festivals, but arguably one of the best and most family friendly events of the year. Blissfields (near Winchester) is back this weekend with a lineup so good, it rivals even some of the larger festivals in the area.

As stated here, it’s not just about the music, so other than this, you can also enjoy art installations, comedy, the craft area or even explore the beachside haven of brand new The Bay.

Here is our top 7 bands that you cannot fail to miss at Blissfields 2016.

The Lost Boys

The Lost Boys are Southampton based indie pop band. Their music is unusual, punchy and the band have even gained the approval of Paul Weller!

Swim Deep

Swim Deep are a Birmingham based, indie rock quartet who play melodic rock influenced by dreampop and shoegaze. The band released their second album ‘Mothers’ late last year and took a more psychedelic approach towards this album in comparison to their debut.

Screaming Peaches

London four piece Screaming Peaches known for their bold and obnoxious pop music with 80s influences strewn throughout. Latest single ‘Sad Kid’ (hear below) is funky and explosive. They’re definitely not one to be missed live.


Southampton, indie rock quartet Cassava have catchy tunes with unique vocals. For such a new band, the four piece have had a successful year so far with lots of support slots and having also recently played Common People Festival in Southampton. It’s even been predicted that ‘Martha” (hear below) will be played all over the radio very soon!

Science Of Eight Limbs

Southampton duo, Scott Reynolds and Michael Breach are Science Of Eight Limbs. The duo actually met at Joiners venue. Their post rock instrumental music has been pulling in crowds locally for a few years now and are predicted to be playing larger venues pretty soon.

Sundara Karma

Reading based, indie psychedelic quartet Sundara Karma are quickly on their way to becoming one of the biggest names in the British indie scene. Their latest single ‘Loveblood’ is said to be the second single taken from their upcoming debut album set to be released later this year.


Blaenavon are a three piece band from Liss. A band that’s not to be underestimated with a live presence that is strong for how young they are. The band have just played Glastonbury, and have a strong upcoming festival calendar ahead of them this year.
