On Friday Portsmouth indie-rock quartet The Directors returned with their second single ‘Sunday Comedown‘! It’s a maturer offering than their previous track ‘Who’s Your Neighbour?‘ that was release last December, but it’s still a super-catchy indie track. That being said, ‘Sunday Comedown’s chorus has pop sensibilities strewn throughout it making it good enough to sing along to. Overall, the track has got a grunge-y edge and a nostalgic/summery vibe to it.
Various band members also had their say on ‘Sunday Comedown’:
“It’s a love song, the innocence of youth and that first love people feel. When you lose that first love your heart is on a comedown. It’s a summer song to feel good too.” – Jude
“After hours of writing and hard work I think us four lads have payed this off as an anthem of the summer, this is taking a turn to the sound we were going for.” – Dills
“Sunday comedown fills me with a Summer house party vibe where I’m chilling mates blasting songs getting drunk. And waking up the next day with no regrets.” – Adam
“it’s a big sounding summer anthem that tells a story I think some people are going to relate to” – Andrew
