In an attempt to raise awareness of the impact of the current pandemic on musicians worldwide, Bandcamp have kindly waived their usual fees to put much needed money directly back into artists pockets. Over the past day, I’ve compiled a list of 9 local bands who all have music on Bandcamp and have all had gigs cancelled/postponed. I’ve seen all of the following bands live and they’re all brilliant, so please consider supporting them in any way you can.
Please note, Bandcamp’s fundraiser will run from
7am on Friday 20th until 7am Saturday 21st March (or midnight Friday 20th for 24 hours Pacific time). This is now a monthly event happening on the first Friday of every month for the foreseeable future! The next Bandcamp Friday will be happening on Friday 3rd July 2020! This handy site provides timezone demystification to make sure you’re actually purchasing on Bandcamp Friday as they work in the PDT timezone!
