Track of the day #586: Tundra Love – Usurper

Tundra Love - Usurper

Brighton based Tundra Love recently returned with their third single ‘Usurper‘, a melancholic offering weighted down by monotony. The track has its calmer parts  but these increase in intensity as they make way for a cold, harshness of heavy, riff-filled goodness. For some reason I hadn’t noticed it before, but the guitars around 01:00 – 01:20 are reminiscent of part of the second half of Interpol’s ‘The New’.

We caught Tundra Love live at the Edge of the Wedge, Portsmouth on their tour in support of ‘Usurper’s release and you can find photos from the gig here.

Tundra Love will also play the following gigs over the next few months:

13th March – Sound Food and Drink, Liverpool – More info
15th March – Big Hands Bar, Manchester – More info
11th April – Roadkill: Easter All-Dayer 2020, London – More info
