I know I say this every year but 2019 has been a brilliant year for music, especially for individual track releases. It’s been such a good year that I couldn’t make the list any shorter, so here is the first part of our 44 track list of the best releases this year!
This year, I’ve split the tracks based on what they’re similar to rather than it being completely random. On this list, most of these tracks lean towards the more pop side of things, are more upbeat and/or are super catchy! I think next week’s list is slightly on the heavier side, the week after is a bit more ambient and the final one is a bit of everything.
As I’m writing this, the list is actually at 43 tracks but I’ve left one spare incase anything brilliant is released over the next couple of weeks. If not, I’ve got a few tracks from the original 135 track long list that only just missed out.
Fun fact: 9 of the 11 bands on this list have played live at least once in either Portsmouth or Southampton across 2019.
Follow our playlist of the best tracks from 2019 here to keep up with updates over the next four weeks!
