Portsmouth’s The Pretty Visitors returned last week with their third release of 2019, ‘High Sailing Blues‘. The raw energy evoked by the track is reminiscent of the band’s live energy. Living up to the tracks name, its bluesy, rock ‘n’ roll side is completed by strong riffs, punchy vocals and clever lyrics. Possibly their strongest single yet and one that shows the band off to their full potential.
Speaking of the track, The Pretty Visitors have said: “The lyrics just flew onto the page without thinking, really summing up a theme of monomania, with the dark depths of the ocean and the madness it can bring providing a backdrop. Musically we kept it simple and let the blues do the talking. Four chords, three verses and pure feeling. It’s still a favourite to play live and a good one to go a bit crazy too.”
The Pretty Visitors have got the following live dates coming up across the rest of 2019:
2nd November – Heartbreakers, Southampton (Headliner) – Tickets
30th November – Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth (Supporting Blithe) – Tickets
20th December – 93 Feet East, London (with Leogang and more TBA) – Tickets
