Track of the day #514: Steve Gunn – Shrunken Heads

Philadelphia folk-rock artist Steve Gunn is back with two brand new tracks taken from the sessions that yielded his latest album ‘The Unseen In Between’. ‘Shrunken Heads‘ stood out as a laid-back, easy-listening but captivating offering and although being quite minimal for the most part, it has its expansive parts as well. The chorus is particularly mesmerising with spacious, dreamy instrumentation contrasting the more melodic, acoustic side of the rest of the track. ‘Shrunken Head’s is the second of two tracks released by Steve Gunn this week and the second, ‘Be Still Moon’, can be heard here.

Steve Gunn released his latest album, the critically acclaimed ‘The Unseen In Between’ back in January. You can catch Gunn on tour throughout the UK this summer across the following dates:

26th August – Patterns, Brighton
27th August – Bodega, Nottingham
28th August – Stereo, Glasgow
29th August – Exchange, Bristol
30th August – End of the Road, Dorset (Festival)
17th September – Omeara – London (solo show)
