London psych-pop band Imperial Daze are back with their latest track ‘People Are Animals‘. The track is doom-laden in parts with heavy synth use but it has its dreamy, more contrasting parts. Its stadium-sized, epic instrumental breakdown picks the track up creating a sparkly interlude. ‘People Are Animals’ is taken from Imperial Daze’s forthcoming EP ‘Surfaces Sensibles’ which is set for release on 7th June via Tip Top Recordings.
Speaking of the track, Imperial Daze have said: “(People Are Animals) hints at the glaring contradiction that, although we are ever more digitally connected, these digital connections can ultimately be incredibly superficial and render us alien to those around us. This is a point often made, but as animals, we are less and less present with our kind. The concepts of digital immediacy, AI, pornography and the potential mental malaise and degradation of the mind due to technological addiction come in to play here.”
Imperial Daze are playing the following gigs/festivals over the next few months:
22nd May – Islington Academy, London (w/ Mando Diao)
1st June – VANN FEST, Surrey
25th June – The Victoria, London
