Although a bit on the slower side than what I’d go for, this latest track from Dead Slow Hoot combines a haunting melancholy with industrial and even ambient soundscapes to create something truly unique. Clocking in at nearly seven minutes, ‘An Island Keen To Float‘ has a certain monotony that drives it without it dragging on. Two minutes in the track builds its intensity with brash soundscapes breaking things up with harsh melodies and general chaos. ‘An Island Keen To Float’ is taken from Dead Slow Hoot’s debut album ‘No Reunions’ which was released earlier this year.
