Cults, institutions and religions. These three things were the foundation blocks of this brand new track by Seattle based band Spirit Animal, ‘Supreme Truth‘ which explores how easy it is to get lost in something when it’s all you’re surrounded by. The track is based on the Japanese death cult, Aum Shinrikyo who recruited the rich to carry out the Tokyo subway sarin attack in 1995. Instrumentally, it’s quite a stunning track otherwise with angular guitar riffs melding with the dreamy, vocal delivery. The repetitive riffs build the track into something quite jaunty, but almost hypnotic. ‘Supreme Truth’ is taken from Spirit Animal’s forthcoming ‘Muted Crowd’ which is set for release later this year.
