Track of the day #440: Ghost//Signals – Hectoring

Hectoring‘, the latest offering from Newcastle/Sunderland based band Ghost//Signals is a track that must be played loud to appreciate its true epic-ness. It’s got its roots based firmly in post-punk but it’s got a far more indie-pop/rock edge to it giving the track vibrancy to something which is actually quite monochrome. It’s got a whole range of influences in there but it has still managed to become something of its own. ‘Hectoring’ doesn’t give up throughout becoming more demanding as it progresses. It’s the first I’ve heard from the band and I already I want more.
