For the first time in a long time, I’ve completely exhausted all of the submissions sent to Mix It All Up, so resorted back to searching through the haystack which is Soundcloud for something new. The first track I came across was ‘Concrete‘ the latest offering from South London based, post-punk band Shame and what a gem the track is. Vocal-wise, ‘Shame’ is mostly a monologue throughout combined with urgently, shouted choruses, but it’s the instrumentation that hooked me. With frantic, chugging guitars for the most part layered with various jangly riffs, the track is packed to the brim with intensity. I’m certain that I couldn’t get bored of the energy exuded by ‘Concrete’ and I’m looking forward to hearing more from the band.
