Keroscene are a four piece, psychedelic, noise-rock band from London who have just released their latest track ‘Our Time‘. We were first aware of the band when they released their previous track ‘Like The First Time’ which we featured on Mix It All Up as one of our tracks of the day back in January.
‘Our Time‘ features sparkling synth jingles with heavier rock choruses and dreamy guitars. In comparison to their previous track. The track is much more clean cut, yet still features catchy, fuzzy guitar hooks and has the same construction with progressive buildups.
Keroscene wrote the track during their time at their “Unit 4” warehouse in London and lyrically reflects their time spent there.
Speaking of the track, the band have said: “The lyrics were also heavily inspired by David Foster Wallace’s essay ‘This is Water‘. Specifically how our perception of banal cultural platitudes and daily annoyances can be radically altered with a shift in consciousness. Just as we have the power to sulk and get pissed off by every little thing going on, we also have the power to control how it affects us. Despite all the craziness around us, we have the ability to choose how we feel.”
For a band that are still yet to release an EP or album, Keroscene have gained considerable support from the likes of the Clash, NME, Q Magazine and more. There’s a bright future for the experimental band, 2017 and beyond.
You can catch the band live at the Montague Arms in London supported by Big Bug and Cruelty on March 15th.
