I first listened to SPINN last week, was quickly impressed by them and featured them as one of our tracks of the week. The band have since gone on to play their biggest gig to date supporting The Sherlocks in Liverpool last Saturday as well as announcing their next single release.
Preceding the release of their next single ‘Home’ on March 3rd, we briefly spoke to SPINN regarding support slots with The Sherlocks, their latest single and the future.
Firstly, so that our readers can know a bit more about you, please introduce your band:
Johnny on Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vocals, Andy on Lead Guitar/Synth, Sean on Bass/Backing Vocals and George on Drums and Backing Vocals. We write Jangly Dream Pop and originate and live in Liverpool.
Your next single ‘Home’ is set for release in early March, what should we expect from this release?
Lots of blog coverage, a single launch show and hopefully a nice tune for your ears!
Was the track inspired by anything in particular?
Musically, it just happened when Andy was strumming some guitar chords in his room. Lyrically, it’s just a pop song about not wanting to leave somebody you’re fond of. There’s not much meaning to this one, the other songs usually have a secret message of some sort though.
Earlier this month, you supported The Sherlocks in Liverpool! Thinking about touring with other bands, if you could play alongside one band/musician dead or alive, who would it be and why?
There’s plenty of them, 1975, Peace, The Rolling Stones??? We’d have to say the 1975 though, because of the lighting and size of their shows. Also the fact they went from being like a small live band like us to playing some of the most aesthetically pleasing shows ever known. It’d be great to play alongside them with them being so current yet relatable.
Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming tour dates and what have you got planned for the rest of 2017?
We thank SPINN very much for their time! You can listen to their track ‘Bliss’ below and also find them on social media via the following links. You can also now listen to ‘Home’ below which will be released on March 3rd!
